Hey Reader, Now that we're a few weeks into the school year, what are you noticing? What are you noticing right now? Because right now is when most teachers, leaders, and school districts start to get into the "groove" of the year. The schedules are set, the kickoff convocation day is over, the rooms and rosters are all set. This is the time to "settle in" and get a feel for what the year is going to bring. What if I told you that right now is also when the next 6 months are going to be decided? Those instructional shifts you tried or learned about, those building or school initiatives, those beginning of the year promises. RIGHT NOW is when they survive...or...when they don't. One of the things we've learned working with schools for more than a decade now is that while the initial training, keynote, workshop, or kickoff event are all important and critical to getting your year off to the right start, one of the most important pieces is what comes after. What happens in September, October, and November will set the stage for the success we are celebrating in April, May, and June. Maybe it's scheduling coaching calls, making time for classroom visits, or creating new systems of support for your teachers, but RIGHT NOW is when your success will be decided. So I'd love to hear how things are going. What did you promise yourself, your staff, or your school that needs to be supported, built on, moved forward, or simply remembered? Hit reply and let me know. Or better yet, let's set up a quick call (seriously, click here and let's chat). I'd love to hear how your year is going, discuss your goals, and just help in any way I can. Stay Awesome!

Hey Reader, I've been thinking a lot recently about the incredible work we're seeing in schools all around the country. It's truly inspiring. Last week, I shared a celebration of Erwin Elementary in North Carolina and how their amazing team of educators worked to move their school from an F to a C on their state report card. So I wanted to share another story of an awesome school. But this time, I also wanted to share what we can learn from their success, so you can take it into your...
Hey Reader, Can I brag for a minute? Don't worry, I don't want to brag about me, or even about our team. I want to brag about some really amazing educators. One of the coolest parts of my job is that I get to meet and work with so many truly amazing teachers and leaders from all around the country. So when we get the opportunity to celebrate their hard work paying off, I want to do it! Our friends at Erwin Elementary in North Carolina recently received their state report card results, and...
Hey Reader, Ok, so this is kind of random, but I was recently reading a fitness article on the importance of recovery, sleep, and growth. The more I read, the more important recovery and sleep seem to become in the science around fitness and nutrition. One of the key takeaways was on how to get quality rest, recovery, and sleep. The article talked about how you should remove distractions by doing things like putting your phone down. But the thing that stuck out most was its suggesting to...
